With 10 days to go until President Jacob Zuma delivers the annual State of the Nation Address to the Joint Sitting of the Houses of Parliament, we at ETHICORE have launched a Facebook Page, as an interactive platform to engage in critical dialogue, debate and information exchange on the State of the Nation Address. On an annual basis, the President of South Africa convenes a joint sitting of the two houses of Parliament (namely the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces) to deliver the annual State of the Nation address. The event also serves as the official opening of Parliament. The State of the Nation Address is utilised by the president of the country to outline government’s programme of work for the remainder of the year.
The State of the Nation Address is scheduled to be delivered on Thursday 9 February 2012 from 19h00.
